Calculator inputs and exports

The room dimensions, fixture specifications, target light level and layout choices you enter are processed in your browser. The optional first-party product analytics described below records allowlisted event names, such as a successful plan or export, but does not receive those calculator input values.

CSV and PNG files are generated locally in your browser. Printing uses your browser’s print function. Files you save are managed by your device and browser rather than stored by this website.

The installation cost tool keeps your budget choices, including unfinished edits, in this tab’s session storage for up to 24 hours so you can return from the light-count tool. Reset on the cost page clears the draft. Closing the tab normally ends the session; browser session restoration may restore tab storage. The “Estimate cost” action transfers only the current light count through the same local storage, consumed once and expiring after five minutes. These values are not added to URLs or sent to our analytics. This task storage is separate from optional analytics and works without analytics consent. Copying a quote request places it on your device’s clipboard; printing stays in your browser. If storage or copying is blocked, the tool shows a message and a manual next step.

The lumen calculator runs in your browser. Only when you select “Open this room in the layout calculator” does it save your valid room inputs in the same 24-hour, same-tab layout snapshot described below, replacing an earlier layout snapshot in that tab. It uses the existing explicit return link to load those inputs on the layout page. No room values are placed in the URL or sent to analytics. If tab storage is blocked, no transfer occurs and the tool explains how to enter the values manually. Reset on the lumen page resets that form; Reset on the layout page clears the saved snapshot.

The “Estimate cost” action also saves a separate snapshot of your valid lighting layout in this tab for up to 24 hours: room dimensions, fixture settings, target, layout, assumptions, distance and illuminance units, and preview switches. The budget uses only the transferred count; its edits do not change the saved layout. “Return and continue my layout” restores that snapshot, not unfinished edits made afterward. Reset on the light-count calculator clears the layout snapshot; Reset on the cost page clears only its budget draft. The snapshot is not sent to a server or analytics and is not placed in the URL. Ordinary calculator visits and explicit guide examples do not automatically restore it. This task storage works without analytics consent; closing the tab normally ends it, subject to browser session restoration.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message and any attachments. We use it to understand the request, reply, investigate reported issues and maintain an appropriate record of the conversation.

Messages to our contact address pass through Cloudflare Email Routing before reaching the mailbox provider, which delivers and stores them. Messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the conversation, related records and applicable obligations, then deleted when they are no longer needed.

Hosting and technical data

When the public website is visited, its hosting and network providers may automatically process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This may include an IP address, request time, requested URL, browser information, response status and security logs.

Cloudflare hosts this website and its first-party analytics endpoint. Technical information may be used for site delivery, reliability, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. Hosting logs are managed under the provider’s operational and retention policies.

Cloudflare performance measurement

Cloudflare Web Analytics, also called real user monitoring (RUM), automatically measures page loading and performance separately from the optional analytics below. Measurements can include page and referring URLs, a page-load identifier, loading timings and Core Web Vitals. This measurement does not wait for an analytics choice and is not controlled by the Accept analytics or Reject analytics buttons.

Cloudflare states that its RUM script does not use cookies or browser storage and does not track people across websites. Cloudflare receives an IP address when handling the measurement request, but says it discards that address at its nearest data center rather than storing it in RUM databases or logs. Optional analytics

First-party product analytics, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are optional. The site does not load Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity and does not send first-party product events until you select Accept analytics. If you select Reject analytics, these three tools remain off. The separate Cloudflare performance measurement is not affected by that choice.

First-party product events

After consent, the site may record a random session and page identifier, event name, timestamp, page path, release version, coarse device class, referring domain and campaign tags. Examples include starting the calculator, generating a valid plan, selecting a layout, encountering a validation error, viewing results, exporting a plan and clicking the contact link.

The event endpoint uses a strict field allowlist. It does not store calculator input values, email content, names or account and order data. This site does not currently provide accounts or checkout.

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 helps measure page visits, traffic sources, devices and the same key product events. Google may set analytics cookies after consent. Advertising storage, Google Signals and ad-personalization signals are disabled by this implementation. Google processes this information under its own terms and privacy practices.

Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity helps diagnose how visitors use the site through session recordings, click and scroll heatmaps, and interaction and performance signals. Form input content is masked. Clarity may set analytics cookies after consent; advertising storage remains denied. Microsoft processes this information under its own terms and privacy practices.

Cookies, storage and your choices

The site uses essential local browser storage to remember your optional analytics choice. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity may set their analytics cookies and the site uses session storage for a random session identifier. You can use the settings below or return through Privacy choices in the footer at any time.

Withdrawing consent stops future collection by first-party product analytics, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity through this site and clears the analytics cookies that the site can remove from this browser. It does not change Cloudflare performance measurement or remove information already processed under your earlier choice; contact us if you have a related privacy request.

Retention

Raw first-party product events are stored in Cloudflare D1, where a daily scheduled job deletes events received more than 90 days ago. Aggregated, non-identifying trend reports may be kept longer. Cloudflare manages RUM measurement retention separately from this 90-day product-event store. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity retain information according to the settings and retention periods of those services. Hosting and security logs follow the provider’s operational retention policies.

Sharing and sale of personal information

We do not sell personal information. Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate, measure and protect the site or mailbox—including Cloudflare (hosting, performance measurement, analytics event storage and email routing), Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity—when you ask us to do so, or when disclosure is required to address an applicable obligation or protect the service.

Links to manufacturer and reference websites take you to independent sites with their own privacy practices. This policy does not describe how those external sites handle information.
